homer v0.1.0

Dashboards

Homer — a dead-simple, static dashboard for your self-hosted services, configured with a single YAML file and served as a fast static page. Deployed as a single host-networked Nomad service.

nomad-pack run homer --registry nomploy
…or one line (add registry + run)
curl -fsSL https://packs.nomploy.com/install.sh | sh -s -- homer

Needs nomad-pack on PATH. The script only adds the nomploy registry and runs this pack.

Back up this pack

This pack stores data in one Docker named volume: homer_assets

restic

# Run on the node hosting this pack. Point restic at your repo first:
# export RESTIC_REPOSITORY="s3:https://<account>.r2.cloudflarestorage.com/<bucket>"
# export RESTIC_PASSWORD="<repo-password>"
# export AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID=<key> AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY=<secret>

rclone (sync to S3/R2)

rclone sync /var/lib/docker/volumes/homer_assets/_data backup:<bucket>/homer_assets

Paths assume the default Docker volume location (/var/lib/docker/volumes). Restore by stopping the job, restoring files into the same volume, and re-running the pack.

Readme

homer

Homer is a very simple, static dashboard (start page) for your self-hosted services. There's no database and no build step: you describe your services, groups and links in a single config.yml and Homer renders a fast, good-looking static page with search, themes, custom icons and optional service status/ping.

This pack runs Homer as a single host-networked Nomad service.

Deploy

nomad-pack run homer --registry=nomploy

Open http://<node-ip>:8080. Homer seeds an example config.yml into the assets volume on first run — edit it to add your own services.

Configuration

Variable Default Description
image b4bz/homer:latest Container image (pin a tag in production).
port 8080 Host port for the dashboard.
assets_volume homer_assets Volume for config.yml and assets (/www/assets).
resources 100 MHz / 64 MB CPU and memory for the task.

Your config.yml, custom icons and themes persist in assets_volume.
